Why was this article rename and references to Interstate 169 removed? There are several mentions of the connector being referred as I-169 in the local Greenville, MS newspaper (the Delta Democrat Times). Ajfroggie (talk) 21:48, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

I seem to recall from the edit log that the rationale had to do with the route not being planned to be constructed to Interstate standards or being designated as one of the SIUs. Given MDOT's numbering policies, I doubt it would even be numbered MS 169 (much more likely to be a rerouting of MS 1). I think the article would be stronger with at least some of the material restored, although I think the article title probably should stay as-is, since that's what MDOT's website calls the route; the DDT's wishful thinking doesn't make the route a proposed Interstate highway. (The TN 22 renaming is at least a little more plausibly a "proposed Interstate" since there's at least a state legislature resolution seeking the designation.) I added a little blurb about the I-169 boosterism and relinked your website; feel free to expand/improve on my small change. Lordsutch (talk) 20:34, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
