[edit] Leader
I see someone has put Lesa de Leau in as the party's leader. This is incorrect. The position of Convenor is not the equivalent of leader, rather the equivalent of a Party President. It isn't simply a matter of changing the name. The Convenor does not act as a media figure in the election, campaigning. Indeed, at the last election, the Convenor was simultaneously the Campaign Coordinator, although this wasn't ex officio.
I'm going to change this in every Greens state party's page, because it is inaccurate in every state (including Tasmania, where there is, in fact, a leader).
It's also worth noting that the 2005 National Conference will be dealing with the Leadership issue, and by the next election the Australian Greens will have an official Leader. But that doesn't mean the NSW Greens will, and if they did, it would be one of the Members of Parliament. Braue 02:34, 3 November 2005 (UTC)
Please stop putting Lesa de Leau in as the Leader. The Convenor is not the equivalent of the leader in any way. It is an administrative position and is nothing like the concept of a 'party leader'. Braue 01:49, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
Is it worth noting that there have been two previous Greens Senators - Christabel Chammarette and another one, both from WA? I appreciate they were members of the WA Greens and not Australian Greens, but it seems a minor distinction, and they deserve some recognition for their efforts.
I am not a Greens member, so maybe I'm missing some good reason not to mention these former Senators. Can anyone enlighten me?
