[edit] 2005 Birmingham Tornado
Was this building damaged by the 2005 Tornado in Birmingham? I think I remember hearing about damage being done to this building as a result. Does anyone know anything or have any sources? Thanks - Erebus555 20:55, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Jihad Training
I wonder how many people know that Jihad training takes place in the mosque or that converts are told that they shouldn't speak to their Kafir parents?? Hasanovic 26 13:36, 5 November 2007 (GMT)
[edit] Proposed for Deletion
I've proposed this page for deletion, since it contains nothing that isn't already covered much better (i.e. up-to-date and with citations) in the page about the Channel 4 documentary, Undercover Mosque. The appearance in that documentary seems to be the only reason this page is here at all. EmmetCaulfield (talk) 08:02, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
- Keep - and improve with physical descriptions of historically interesting site/buildings. One of the buildings in the complex is a listed building Grade II and was originally a Martin & Chamberlain Victorian library and baths. As such it could make part of a worthwhile article, so long as the article is about the buildings and not dominated by current events, which belong in their own article. The long list of references and links should not be duplicated here. Oosoom Talk 09:33, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

I agree that if the article contained the content that you suggest, it should not be considered for deletion. Right now, however, and for a very long time, it has been (at best) a copy-paste of a paragraph from the Undercover Mosque documentary article. Since you object to the deletion, you should remove the {{prod}} tag and, ideally, improve it if you can: even the addition of the above info about Grade II listed status would be an improvement. [edit] Removed Links
OK, well, I'm going to be bold and get the ball rolling a bit myself. I've added the material about the Grade 2 listed status and reorganised the article a little. I've removed most of the links, which are about the documentary, not the Masjid/Mosque.
The following links are just plain dead:
- Channel 4 Dispatches web page on "Undercover Mosque" episode
- Official written response to documentary (open letter to Hardcash Productions, the chief executive of Channel 4 and Ofcom)
The following links are not about the Green Lane Masjid itself: they are about the Channel 4 Dispatches Documentary, Undercover Mosque, and belong in its page, rather than this page, which should be about the Mosque itself, rather than being a "tug-of-POV" over the content of the documentary.
