Talk:Greatest common denominator
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
One cannot assign an absence of meaning to "Greatest common denominator" without at the same time assigning an absence of the meaning to "lowest common denominator".
Having said that, denominator is simply the bottom of a fraction, whereas divisor is a number, that when placed as a denominator, leaves no remainder.
LCD loses it's meaning the same way GCD does.
When using a term to describe the greatest commonality among people, "lowest common endowment" would be something to the effect of existance. Therefore, when find a level at which all members of a population may be included, one uses the Greatest common endowment. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ruhbee!
