is it true that the name Massachusetts is derived from "great blue hill"? that may be worth exploring in the article, especially if this hill's name is native american in origin. 71.126.50.55 03:38, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

I doubt it VERY much. It was the explorers/colonists that named the hill(s) that. When they approached the coast they saw the hill had a blue hue to them, thus the name. Nothing to do with the Native American name of MA. This needs attention. Gosh, there is so much to do here. ~Jeeny (talk) 04:42, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
