[edit] Images on this page

I've reverted the change to a gallery. If Dancarney can explain what was wrong with the photos as they were, we can agree on the best way to show them. However, with six photos, a table of 2 rows of photos 3 columns wide seems to me to be a good way of showing them, at a size that can be seen but without the their loading being a problem. Please comment here before making the change again. --Phil Holmes (talk) 11:15, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

The images are far bigger than those seen on any other location page I've come across (with the exception of panoramas), e.g. in the featured article, Herne Bay, Kent. In Firefox the pictures don't nicely fit on the screen and they obscure the infobox. Dancarney (talk) 17:40, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the comments. I gave up Firefox when it kept crashing with Google maps :-(. FWIW, even with the gallery style, setting the browser width on Firefox low enough makes the images cover the infobox - there's a bug here somewhere. Leave it with me, though - I'll mess about tomorrow and get the images somewhat smaller so that Firefox is OK on a 1280 screen.--Phil Holmes (talk) 18:28, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
That seems to work now. I've put the village sign piccy in the infobox - I thought that looked a bit tidier. Dancarney (talk) 10:47, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
