Grembergen is a town in the municipality of Dendermonde in the province of Oost-Vlaanderen in Belgium. It is not to be confused with the municipality of Grimbergen in the province of Vlaams-Brabant.
The Belgian symbolist painter Fernand Khnopff was born in the Castle of Grembergen (the property of his maternal grandparents ) in 1858. Most publications on Fernand Khnopff refer to the town with its (today unofficial) French name: Grembergen-lez-Termonde (=Grembergen near Dendermonde).
