Gregory Widen

Gregory Widen is an American screenwriter and director.
He graduated from UCLA's screenwriting program shortly before selling the script for Highlander in 1986.
Widen worked as a firefighter for three years. He witnessed a friend killed by an explosive backdraft, which became the basis for the screenplay for the movie Backdraft.
In 1995 he directed the horror movie The Prophecy starring Christopher Walken.
