Major General Gregory L. Wayt is currently the U.S. state of Ohio's Adjutant General in Governor Ted Strickland's Cabinet.

[edit] Military service
Wayt joined the Regular Army in 1975 and served as an Air Defense Artillery Officer. He has held several staff officer assignments in the Ohio Army National Guard. He was assigned the joint chief of staff for the Joint Force Headquarters in Ohio, and on July 1, 2004, he was appointed Adjutant General of Ohio.

Wayt graduated from Ohio State University in 1975 with a Bachelor's Degree in parks and recreation. He received his Master's in Public Administration from the University of Dayton in 1986. In 1987 he graduated from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and from the Army War College in 1997.
