Greg Westaway

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gregory John (Greg) Westaway is an Australian businessman and founder of Gregorys Transport. He is also the president of the St Kilda Football Club.

Westaway became president of the St Kilda Football Club in late 2007, when he was approached by a group of club identities to mount a boardroom challenge to then club president Rod Butterss.[1] Westaway formed a group called Footy First, which campaigned for spending more money on the club's football department instead of reducing debt, and launched a board challenge on September 11. Acknowledging the desire for management change, Butterss and four of his fellow directors resigned from the board in October.[2]

He was awarded the Centenary Medal by the Australian government for service to the Australian road transport industry in leadership roles.[3]
