Greg Davies

Greg Davies is an English comedian performing stand-up and as a member of the sketch group We Are Klang. He was also recently the continuity announcer for UK cable and satellite channel Paramount Comedy. He can also be seen appearing on the CBBC Channel sometimes playing characters such as William Shakespeare and Guy Falkes alongside Ed Petrie and talking cactus Oucho. He also appeared on Channel 4 cricket idents as cricketer W.G. Grace and is noted for his size, standing at 6 feet 8 tall [1]. Davies is currently appearing in the E4 series The Inbetweeners playing the "psychotic" head of sixth form. Davies has previously mentioned in his stand up that he himself was a teacher for thirteen years.

He use to work at Langleywood Sec. School, teaching English.[citation needed]

In 2002, Davies won the Laughing Horse New Act of The Year competition and was a finalist in So You Think You're Funny.

In 2003, he was a runner up in ITV's 'Take the mike' competition and a finalist in the Leicester Mercury New Act of The Year competition. He was nominated for Best New Act of the Year in the 2003 Chortle comedy awards.

In 2006, Davies was nominated for an if.comedy award as part of We Are Klang.

In 2007, Davies was nominated three times in the Chortle Awards, in the category 'Breakthrough Act' (for his solo stand-up act), 'Best sketch, variety or character act' and 'Best full-length show' (both as part of sketch team We Are Klang) [2] .
