Greer is an unincorporated community in Apache County, Arizona, United States. It lies at an elevation of approximately 8,600 feet amid forests of both conifer and broadleaf trees populated by many different kind of animals. Greer is located near the town of Eagar in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. Its position in the valley of the Little Colorado River near various lakes means that temperatures are significantly milder than surrounding areas. The Sunrise Park Resort, a skiing resort, is located approximately half an hour's drive away.
While Greer is over a four hour drive from Phoenix and a five hour drive from Tucson, it remains one of the most popular summer destinations in Arizona. As it is consistently 20-30 degrees cooler than the deserts.
