Greenville Memorial Hospital is a 710-bed tertiary referral and academic center located in Greenville, South Carolina at 701 Grove Road. The hospital, one of the largest in South Carolina, is the regional referral center for the Upstate of South Carolina. It is also the flagship hospital for Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center, a not-for-profit academic health organization committed to medical excellence through research and education that is accredited by the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Hospital Organizations (JCAHO). The system serves Greenville County and the surrounding areas. It's five campuses provide integrated healthcare to communities across Greenville County and beyond through a tertiary referral and education center, community hospitals, a short-stay surgical hospital, a long term acute care hospital, nursing home, outpatient facilities and wellness centers.
The hospital is a member of the Planetree Alliance, a nonprofit association of health-care institutions set up to promote practices to make patients less intimidated and more comfortable with the care they receive.
