[edit] HEY @ 7 Habits Programme

The HEY Programme was conceived in 2002 and was introduced to all secondary two pupils in Greenview. It aims to inspire and motivate pupils by building their awareness and changing their mindsets through the 7 Habits of Effectiveness.

In this programme, Greenviewians are shown how to put the powerful and timeless 7 habits into action to take charge of their lives. Based on Sean Covey's The & Habits of Highly Effective Teens, the 7 habits taught in the curriculum are as follow :

Be Proactive
Begin with the End in Mind
Put First Things First
Think Win-Win
Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood
Synergize
Sharpen the Saw

The 16-week programme is anchored by a group of Greenview teachers that are specially trained for this programme. The school worked collaboratively with Centre for Effective Leadership (CEL) to train the selected Greenview teachers to become effective 7 Habits facilitators. The lessons conducted are highly interactive and experiential. Facilitators use an exciting range of experiential activities, video discussions, games, role-playing exercises to help the pupils develop their full potential.

Greenview is of the belief that our pupils will have an edge over others in attaining self-mastery and public victory if they acquire the 7 habits thinking and skills training. The school hopes that through the programme, our pupils can learn to be morally upright, to believe in their own abilities and to be able to work in teams.

[edit] CATALYST @ Greenview

Based on Peter Senge's The Fifth Discipline, the CATALYST Programme (Character and Team Building for Dynamic Students) is created and introduced to all graduating pupils to enhance their ability to manage self and others. It aims to guide pupils to embrace the concept of learning organization in the school context and beyond. The 5 key concepts covered in this programme include

Personal Mastery
Mental Models
Team Learning
Shared Vision
Systems Thinking

The 16-week programme is anchored by a group of heads of department trained in Organizational Learning (OL). Like the HEY @ 7 Habits Programme, the lessons conducted are highly interactive and experiential. Concepts of OL are introduced through a wide range of activities like role-plays, video screening, games and neuro-linguistic conditioning exercises.

The CATALYST Programme aspires to plant in our pupils empowering beliefs that will help them achieve personal success and to develop them to become the best they can be.
