Greenography
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Greenography (an amalgamation of the words green and biography) refers to written accounts of an individual’s life, favoring aspects that are considered to be a part of a “green” or environmentally friendly lifestyle. Although traditional biographies do much more than list facts about a person’s life, by including intimate experiences and examining the emotions involved, greenographies tend to follow along the lines of a profile. A greenography would note involvement with environmental organizations and green living practices in the subject’s own life, as well as what beliefs guide them. In some ways, it’s like a resume of green accomplishments.[citation needed]

Focusing on celebrities for positive contributions rather than scandals is a relatively new avenue in the media, but it’s one that’s catching on. Entire gossip websites[1] such as beanSTOCKd.com [1] are devoted to green celebrities have been launched and no top celebrity list is complete without a few green leaning ones in the mix.

[edit] What exactly is in a greenography?
What information a person’s greenography contains can vary. For some it can be very basic personal choices like refusing plastic bags for reusable fabric or otherwise reducing waste from their daily lives. Installing solar panels, water conservation or living off grid are other notable lifestyle choices. If the subject volunteers with environmental or social organizations, or otherwise speaks out in support of environmental issues, it’s all part of the greenography[5].
