Greek passports are issued to Greek citizens to travel outside of Greece. For traveling inside the Schengen area, Greek citizens can use their ID card.

Biometric passports are available since August 26, 2006. They are valid for a period of 5 years and they cost €82.00. Prices however vary depending on the age of passport holder.

According to a study done by Henley & Partners, Greece has a Henley Visa Restrictions Index of 120, which means that Greek citizens enjoy visa-free access to 120 countries and territories for short-term tourism visits. Greece is ranked 9th in the study in terms of international travel freedom.
