The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago is an ecclesiastical territory or metropolis of the Greek Orthodox Church in the Chicago region of the United States. It is part of the Archdiocese of America and is led by a metropolitan who serves as the priest of the mother church, Annunciation Cathedral in the City of Chicago. Holy Master Metropolitan Iakovos was enthroned as the Bishop of Chicago on May 1, 1979, following his election to that post by the Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Phanar, Constantinople, Turkey.
