GreekFest is an annual festival held on Jones Beach in Wantagh, New York. Originally participants were members of college fraternities and sororities that were composed primarily of racial minorities. Members of fraternities and sororities are called "Greeks" because most are denoted by a combination of Greek letters. More recently, a large proportion of the attenders are members of the general public.
