Greater Catholic League

The Greater Catholic league (abbreviated GCL) is a high school sports league for Catholic schools in and around the Dayton and Cincinnati, Ohio areas. Teams combined have won over 110 state titles and more than 315 individual state titles, as well as numerous "mythical" national championships. Teams in the GCL are often ranked in the top ten in the state as well as the nation regradless of sport. The GCL is home to numerous All-American and All-State athletes. The league also gave rise to numerous professional athletes. Beginning with the 2006-2007 School year the GCL will be divided into 3 divisions. GCL North is made of Dayton-area Catholic schools, GCL Central is made of the smaller Cincinnati-area schools, and GCL South is made of the Division I Catholic schools in the Greater Cincinnati area.
