Great River Energy bicycle festival

Great River Energy Bicycle Festival is a nine-day event that takes place at sites around central Minnesota. The Festival will take place on June 7 - 15 in 2008. It will begin with a two days track cycling race on the National Sports Center Velodrome in Blaine on Saturday & Sunday, June 7 & 8.
The Rasmussen College Women's Cycling Summit will take place on Tuesday, June 10. This is an annual conference that began in 2003. It's most visible outcome is the creation of the Women's Prestige Cycling Series, a national, four-race, women-only series that includes the Nature Valley Grand Prix.
The Nature Valley Grand Prix, a professional bicycle stage race, is the main event of the Great River Energy Bicycle Festival and will take place on June 11 - 15. Races will take place in the downtowns of Saint Paul, Cannon Falls, Minneapolis, Mankato and Stillwater. The Nature Valley Grand Prix is ranked at 2.1 the USA Cycling National Racing Calendar, the highest ranking for stage races.

The Great River Energy Bicycle Festival is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) charity whose missions are bicycle education and to support Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. All proceeds from the Festival are donated to the pediatric hospice at Children's.
