Since its foundation in 1989, Great Marshal of Ayacucho Symphony orchestra has reunited to an ample group of young Venezuelan talents that with his outstanding performances they give faith of the fruits of the National System of Youthful and Infantile Symphony orchestras of Venezuela.

The Great Marshal of Ayacucho Symphony orchestra was created in 1989, through the agreement signed by the Great Marshal of Ayacucho foundation and the state foundation for the National Youth Orchestra. This agreement allowed thejoining efforts of the best performers of the centers in the metropolitan area of Caracas. In this manner the newest and most dynamic orchestra of the city, was formed. In 1992, it was constituted under the name of Great Marshal of Ayacucho Symphony orchestra Foundation, eponym that gives homage to the illustrious forefather of independence, Antonio José de Sucre. In 1995 the well-known kinetic artist Carlos Cruz-Diez, donate the integral design of the image that the orchestra uses to this date, in addition to becoming illustrious ambassador of the institution.

As orchestra nucleus, not only has it made up a broad symphonic repertoire offered permanently in its regular concert season in the Teresa Carreño Cultural Complex, but it has also acted in the most prestigious musical events. Its dynamic presence has been confirmed in all the music festivals of Venezuela, through agreements with the most relevant cultural institutions in the national context. The orchestra has been host of important conductors and soloists, in 1997 the Composer in residence project was established in which Maestro Ricardo Teruel initiated an organic platform for the promotion and projection of creative talent. Other facets of activity of the orchestra, have been directed at participating in ballet and opera productions of great importance in the different seasons that are held in Venezuela, such as those of the Opera of the Teresa Carreño Cultural Complex, and the Opera Breve of the Caracas Athenaeum.

It has been in broadcasting projects for its musicians through, the orchestra in chamber experience and it has assumed a place in the space of recordings, with the productions of the albums, Carmina Burana (Orff), Beethoven's IX symphony, Ficciones, Tchaikovsky spectacular, Symphonic Venezuela, Danzón... Music of Latin America, Symphonic Christmas, between works with other groups, like the album Ensemble Gurrufio and the Great Marshal of Ayacucho Symphony orchestra.

Moreover, its relevant artistic performance has led it to enter in the world of cinema, by recording the music for the movies: Pandemonium and Cuchillos de Fuego, by Román Chalbaud with the music of Federico Ruiz, Una Vida y dos Mandados, production of Alexis Montilla Films, and music of Nascuy Linares, and Manuela Sáenz, the movie, of Diego Rízquez, and music of Eduardo Marturet. Due to its multiple projects, the Great Marshal of Ayacucho Symphony orchestra is recognized as one of the most solid orchestras entities throughout Latin America.
