Great Ball Contraption
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Great Ball Contraption is a LEGO machine made of modules created by individuals and then assembled into one big machine. The modules take LEGO soccer balls or basketballs in one end, and give them to the next module on the other end. The GBC standard was created by Steve Hassenplug and other AFOLs.
[edit] The Standard
The GBC standard dictates that the balls must have a throughput rate of at least one ball per second. The modules must also have standardized input trays and output locations.
[edit] The GBC website
The Great Ball Contraption has two websites currently. The old one [1] describes the standard, and offers building ideas compiled by Brian Davis. The new site has more information and is more organized. It links back to the old page for the standard.
