[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Vectorman2.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Vectorman2.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 02:16, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- Good job BetacommandBot, you caught one of my early image foibles. Well done. Grandmasterka 07:40, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Template discussion
As an occasional editor to the discussion at Template:United States presidential election, 2008 your input would be appreciated at Template talk:United States presidential election, 2008#Proposal: A return to the old standards. Thank you.--STX 04:42, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Portal:Minnesota
Portal:Minnesota is at Wikipedia:Featured_portal_candidates if you can find a minute to vote. From memory, you are both an administrator (someone with knowledge of Wikipedia), and a member of WikiProject Minnesota (someone on the list of participants). The most recent portal promotions had only a few more votes than Minnesota has now. Thank you kindly. -Susanlesch (talk) 01:43, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Mirza Ahmad
the entire text is a copyvio I think, I'll get the various URLS. Did you note he also as two pages? The other is at Mirza F. N. Ahmad. Both appear posted by a promotional SPA TRAVELLINGCARIMy storyTell me yours 03:25, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'm happy to -- I can't verify that he actually won any of the awards mentioned in his promo bios all over the website? There are a lot of false positives from same name syndrome but I'm not entirely convinced he's notable . Maybe you'll find something TRAVELLINGCARIMy storyTell me yours 03:35, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
- OK and if I find any evidence of notability other than promotional puff, I'll use it to expand the stub. TRAVELLINGCARIMy storyTell me yours 03:37, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
- Saw that, thanks. I'm still truffling around for what I can find. On another note, love the rollback kitty :) TRAVELLINGCARIMy storyTell me yours 03:54, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] PROD/Speedy for Last Days of Humanity
Hi I put a speedy delete tag on Last Days of Humanity, which you removed saying "Has albums released on record labels with articles -- use WP:PROD." So I've gone ahead and put a PROD tag on instead as you advised, but I am a little confused. I admit I have almost no experience with article deletions, but as far as I've been able to determine, you can A7 "An article about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant." Clearly, this article fits the bill. Furthermore, I haven't seen anything at WP:SPEEDY, WP:PROD, or WP:MUSIC that would suggest that having releases on a label for which there is an article disqualifies a band for speedy. What am I missing? Yilloslime (t) 03:41, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] VP Issues
Sorry about that, VP's reverting vandalism when it's happening and then warning the person one back in the list. I'm not sure what's causing it but it's only been happening in the last couple of days.BigHairRef | Talk 00:23, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- It might be an idea but I run IE so it wouldn't be much use. I've stopped using VP for now as it's happening practically every rollback. BigHairRef | Talk 00:38, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Concern about an edit
See here: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/us_elections/article3160177.ece

Found those in less than 3 minutes of googling. With those sources from Times Magazine AND NY Times+MSNBC, how could you use "original research" as reason to delete some entry about hilary winning new hampshire with her tears and McCain's victory is a surprise to many analysists? Is it because you didn't know? So people are telling the truth when they say something you know/agree with and people are making stuff up if it is something you didn't know or agree with?
I doubt any wikipedia user would be incapable of simple uses of google, so why not use it to make yourself more knowledgeable before deleting other people's legitmate contributions to the knowledge base? Especially when it's a subject you do not know enough about?
I didn't write the entries for those facts that you deleted but i was pointing it out to someone when i saw it deleted and worse by an admin. How can an administrator make such obvious mistakes?
I would agree with editting the wordings to make it sound neutral but erasing stuff completely? That is really unthoughtful and rash, especially when those were complete facts that say a lot about how and why 2008 primaries has been so insane. Silly things like these is what start many idiotic flame wars on wiki, and to see it being done by an admin is truly disheartening. Ssh83 (talk) 19:33, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- It’s just that I find it sad that an idea for an internet knowledge database was turned into a message board full of unconstructive quarrels. If you can’t even remember when and where you cited original research as your reason to delete things that you simply never heard of it and did not research about it before deleting, then that says something about how frequently this happens.
Just imagine, if a history professor added something about a little-known skirmish in a war, then someone comes along and deletes it saying it’s “original research,” just because he didn’t like something about the professor’s entry. Do you think the professor would endorse wikipedia as a respectable source when his honest contribution got removed just like that? Immediately deleting an entry written with bad language and insults is one thing, but if you’re thinking about deleting something not so obviously bad, do some research, post a discussion and ask for people’s opinion. Your goal as an admin should be to promote the growth and wellbeing of the database, not to edit it to your likings.Ssh83 (talk) 00:16, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not saying admin are arrogant. I'm saying that so many people are counter-productive, and it’s sad to see an admin make the same mistake. Ssh83 (talk) 19:29, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Lir
Hi, You made a comment in banning Lir that "Here to complain and troll over a ban that was set over three years ago - not here to do anything constructive.". Were s "Here"? Cheers--Shattered Wikiglass (talk) 04:49, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Please protect this page or block the user
A person with the IP address 211.28.58.108's user talk page needs to be protected or the user blocked. This user blatantly vandalizes the Holocaust page and makes racially charged comments about white people. We have already deleted them. He has made new sections on talk page which have been deleted but read, "NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW", "UNBLOCK ME NOW", WE WON THE HOLOCAUST continuously, "HAHAHAHAHAHAHA REVENGE", and has vandalized many, i mean many celebrity pages. Im asking for your help in this.(Rhinostampede (talk) 16:50, 22 March 2008 (UTC))
Ok thanks for the update.(Rhinostampede (talk) 14:34, 23 March 2008 (UTC))
[edit] Spam in Vichy cosmetics
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Vichy cosmetics, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Vichy cosmetics is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Vichy cosmetics, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. What part of the City of Lakes do you live in? MPLS is a cool city.
[edit] Undelete request
Hi, Grandmasterka. Can you please undelete these 10 pages? Or is that too much work? Bobak helped with deleting them which helped me greatly a week ago. I have a copy of the one message in current talk and will archive it when the old page is in place (so no problem if you have to erase my current user and talk page). Thanks very much if you could give me a hand. -Susanlesch (talk) 07:07, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
- Looks good. I fixed the three red links. If you don't mind I'd these back too. -Susanlesch (talk) 19:45, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you. This must be you in The Blend - Life on the Road Part I. I found a bunch of The Blend videos and it seems to be from your user page and meetup. If I can ever help you out in the future hope you will ping. -Susanlesch (talk) 23:04, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
- Which video is better, I wlil watch it. Besides trying to find you, I liked this one because you can hear the lead singer whose voice is great, sing. I meant wikihelp not bandhelp. You already have great poster artists (saw the series of posters!), the only thing I was ever capable of doing in music besides show up to listen. -Susanlesch (talk) 00:11, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- OK. I can spin through the posters then frame by frame just for fun. -Susanlesch (talk) 00:18, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- It is no problem to look and a pleasure to listen. No need for extra pix thanks I was trying to save your time ;-). thanks for the offer though. -Susanlesch (talk) 00:31, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
