[edit] John Adams High School (Jamaica/Ozone Park, NY)

Hey, I didn't know who to contact for this conflict, but a person named "Jerry" is changing a page and claims to be "trimming" it. The information on the page John Adams High School (Jamaica/Ozone Park, NY) is good information, and he is literally slicing it in half. He claims to be helping the page from not getting deleted, as apparently he's defending school pages from not being deleted, however, this page is NOT even a threat for being deleted, and I've spent quite some time (an hour to two) writing up information for the article, and he just deletes it like that. Can you please do something about this? Thank you. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Xbxg32000 (talkcontribs).

Oh, sorry about the link, silly of me to forget. Anyway, yes. After realizing that I did get into some personal information, I deleted that information. I made sure not to put personal information like that in the rest of the article. Thanks for reading. Xbxg32000 04:24, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Salman

[edit] Majorly's RfB

Hey Grandmasterka, thanks for your strong support in my RfB. Sadly, it didn't pass, but I appreciate the support (and the fact you say I am a half-inch short of sainthood ;)), and I do intend to run again eventually. Happy editing! Majorly (o rly?) 02:59, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Second opinion

Hi, noticed you were online and would appreciate a second opinion. It seems to me that User:PatPeter/User antigay should be speedy deleted user CSD T1 as divisive and inflammatory. Users objecting to same sex marriage via userboxes seems one thing but opposing gay rights alltogether seems extreme and is only going to lead to aggravation. But I wanted to check with another admin before I went ahead. WjBscribe 05:04, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Thank you. WjBscribe 05:08, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
I just checked out the deleted userbox. Good call - Alison 05:23, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

For your perusal. coelacan — 17:58, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

  • May I point to WP:CSD#T1, which applies here? Alison 18:27, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
That's the criterion Grandmasterka used to delete it once already. However, I personally am not going to touch any more of his userspace at this time, which precludes tagging it. I don't want to cause him undue stress, beyond what I have apparently already caused. He has become upset at me personally for touching his userspace, so I'd rather it be handled in such a way that it doesn't seem it's just me who has an issue here. coelacan — 18:53, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
Nor I. I'm trying to be reasonable here. However, that userbox is divisive and offensive. Being a member of the LGBT cabal anyway, I'd be accused of bias - Alison 19:10, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Eternia Online continued

Just to let you know, it was not me who edited your comments. I told you that it was one of the co-developers. And also, it's not my article. It was my friend's friend's article. I'm only sticking up for him. This discussion is not over. Powerfulmind 18:59, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

And also, why did you delete my comment on my talk page? Powerfulmind 19:11, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Just to let you know, I am nowhere near happy with you. What kind of question is that, "What do you want me to do?" I don't want you to do anything. I never wanted you to do anything except explain why you deleted his article. You did, and this would have been over a long time ago if it wasn't for you messing around with my talk page. And also, you didn't have to be rude about your explanation. And don't tell me you didn't, because it was blatant to me. No excuses. Powerfulmind 14:53, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
One more thing: I'm not trying to build a rivalry here. Powerfulmind 14:54, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
Whatever. As I said above, all I asked was for you to explain why. You did. Both of us let this thing skyrocket out of control. Is this over? Can we E.I.P. (Edit In Peace)? Sory if this has wasted any of your time. Can we be virtual friends now, as editors? :) Powerfulmind 01:35, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, but I don't really need a template to tell me how to edit Wikipedia, being an editor who has created many of the templates used on my talk page. Thanks anyway. I hope you don't mind that I will remove it. Just as long as we're cool on this. :) Powerfulmind 01:43, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
Oh, and one other thing. I will probably not read the notability thing you gave me. I won't have time. Don't take it personally. Powerfulmind 01:52, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
And as for the history thing you added before the template, I don't need that either...just wanted to let you know. And can you tell me why my signature isn't showing the proper links? [[User:Powerfulmind|Powerfulmind [[User talk:Powerfulmind|pleasetalktome!]] [[Special:Contributions/Powerfulmind|lookatallofmyedits!]]]] 00:46, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
Radiant fixed the signature for me. Thanks anyway. Powerfulmind pleasetalktome! lookatallofmyedits! 17:06, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Talk redirects

It sounds rather unclear to me, and could be read to include "WT:foo -> wikipedia talk:foo", as well as "talk:foo -> talk:bar" redirects (for instance, related templates tend to "share" a talk page). >Radiant< 09:45, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Thank you very much for your kind intervention and your concern for propriety. Unfortunately this commendable attitude is not on everyone's agenda. Dr.K. 12:28, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] User:EuropeanLynx

You blocked this editor a few days ago, he's now back editing Nazi skinhead using a different sockpuppet of User:Laderov. Thanks. One Night In Hackney303 14:26, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Thanks a lot for your recent support in my RfA. I passed. J Milburn 16:25, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disambiguation pages

Back in October, you created a disambiguation page at Spelling differences. This seems to work pretty well, except that now there are a couple dozen links to a disambiguation page that really ought to link to one of the specific pages. Please remember when creating disambiguation pages to actually disambiguate the links. (See Wikipedia:Disambiguation#Construction for more.)

In this case, I've created a redirect from Spelling differences (English) which may make things easier. (Unless you're one of those people that don't like redirects; personally, I think they're great!)

[edit] Who is the person at the tip top of wikipedia

...it just got me thinking they've done well for themselves...who is right at top of wikipedia —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 213.218.247.91 (talk) 14:07, 11 April 2007 (UTC).

Um, well, Jimbo Wales (User:Jimbo Wales) is the founder of Wikipedia. There isn't really any "top authority" when it comes to making Wikipedia policy, although the arbitration committee is the last step of the dispute resolution process. Grandmasterka 03:17, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Good Call

Sorry, I completely missed the earlier Burton sock edit. Good catch.--Isotope23 17:19, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks!

Archive_11_(April%2C_%2707), thank you very much for your support in my successful RfA.

I am thankful and humbled by the trust that the community has placed in me,
and I welcome any comments, questions or complaints that you may have.
Again, thank you for your support, and happy editing!

[edit] Bushcarrot's RfA:

Your words on the mentioned RfA were not needed, uncivil & counterproductive. Swearing & questioning legitimate oppose votes on an RfA is uncalled for - everyone is entitled to their opinion & in this case, most were right. The fact the user left is a sign enough about their resolve in conflict. I respect your decision, but there is no need to trash mine or other's... Thanks, Spawn Man 08:14, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Question

Regarding this, was there a ban discussion at ARBCOM or elsewhere? I just want to confirm he is banned because this editor is socking and if he is banned I'm going to WP:DENY.--Isotope23 16:13, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the link, I'm trying to decide where to go from here, but it looks like all paths lead to WP:CN.--Isotope23 13:01, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your band's tour...

I sent you an email. Let me know on my WP talk page if you don't get it, as my email has been acting up. I will send it from another account. Good luck booking a gig. youngamerican (ahoy hoy) 12:23, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Deleted image

You deleted this promo photo. I've re-uploaded it (this time with fair use rationale included). Please let me know if it isn't up to snuff. Closenplay 20:32, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

OK, it's done. Thanks. Closenplay 23:35, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Shirahadasha RfA thanks

Thanks so much for taking the time to comment on my my RfA, which was successful. I learned a lot from the comments, I appreciate everything that was said, and I'll do my best to deserve the community's trust. Thanks again! And thanks for your kind words and support. --Shirahadasha 04:25, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Mean Girls (band)

You are correct, there was a claim of notability, though a rather paltry one, I'd say. I have listed it on AfD, and we will see what happens. ---Charles 16:03, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Warumpi Band

Thanks for the heads-up. I had taken the info from another Wikipedia article mostly, if I recall correctly, as it was more appropriate in this article instead. No worries, and thanks also for making WP a better resource. I agree: give credit where it's due, and do not plagiarize.--SidP 13:31, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
