[edit] Neo (magazine)
Welcome to Wikipedia. I notcied your contribution to Neo (magazine), great work! Just thought I'd let you know that "Japanese" links to a disambiguation article, and usually in articles, it is best that links go directly to other articles. In this case, to Japan, which I acheived using piping: [[Japan|Japanese]]. We are working on a project called Wikipedia:Disambiguation pages with links to try and fix up any links to dab pages. Good luck! --Commander Keane 12:02, August 30, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Request for edit summary
Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 9% for major edits and 21% for minor edits. (Based on the last 150 major and 68 minor edits in the article namespace.)
This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear impolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 13:30, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

Hm. Well, I personally think it should be K-9 properly speaking but in the absence of anything else... if you want to change it back, I'm not objecting any further. ---khaosworks (talk • contribs) 22:20, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Graduation
Congratualations! Did he do the jokes about terminal illness and fairy liquid? The JPStalk to me 16:05, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
- No, he was amusing though. Much more entertaining than the vice chancellor who just rambled on about the Uni's acheviements in the last year. When I was on stage my Mam cheer out my name really loud so when I shook his hand he said "Well, your Mum's happy!" which made me giggle for some reason. GracieLizzie 16:29, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
- I know what you mean about the VC's speech. Sometimes the honorary recipients can be bloody boring and annoying too. Puttnam's always good - a nice bloke too. Seemed you had a nice day :) And to think, we've been a stone's throw from each other! The JPStalk to me 16:33, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
- The higher award speeches didn't last too long this year as they were only about six people getting them. Though it did tinge the end of the ceremony with a smidgin of sadness as the last one was recieved - I believe - posthumously. But all in all it was a really good day ^_^. [edit] Suzie Costello
The promotional material was probably just to hype up Indira Varma (who's all look-she-starred-on-HBO) and to conceal the fact that Suzie dies in the first episode. The real question is whether there is any more information about Suzie that deserves more than a stub or whether there is likely to be. Since she's dead, it doesn't look that way.
Now, if she comes back... then there's an argument for restoring it (and hey, given that she's involved with a resurrection glove, there's at least a couple of ways I can think of to bring her back, so I wouldn't count Suzie out just yet). But as it is, all the info we know is in Everything Changes. Do note that the Suzie Costello article was tagged for deletion until I changed it to a redirect; at least this way the history is preserved and visible and easily changed back to an article without the need for admin intervention if it is warranted in future. --khaosworks (talk • contribs) 13:29, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
- Ah, okay. I reckon she could come back too actually, after all they kept her body. --GracieLizzie 13:33, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Recent edit to Wormholes in fiction
Hello. Thank you for your recent edit to Wormholes in fiction. Your edit included one or more links to the page British, which is a disambiguation page. This type of page is intended to direct users to more specific topics. Ordinarily we try to avoid creating links to disambiguation pages, since it is preferable to link directly to the specific topic relevant to the context. You can help Wikipedia by revising the links you added to Wormholes in fiction to refer directly to the most relevant topic. [edit] Link for List of Sailor Locations
would this be a good link for the List of Sailor Moon Locations page? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Sailor_Moon_locations http://www.geocities.com/lunararchivist/mystplan.html It's a little old but it talks about the places in the solar system that are based on real space locations. Would that be of good use? Neptunekh 05:06, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
-
- The Luna Archivist's work is usually quite good. So yes I thinks so, however some things in the Sailor Moon world may be named after things, but aren't supposed to be the same thing - the Tau Galaxy in Sailor Moon is a Galaxy for example, not a star system like Tau Ceti. --GracieLizzie 15:46, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi GracieLizzie. You seem like a very nice person. You probaly know I was kicked off of Wikimoon because I acted acted badly. Well I did. But I've learned from my mistake. I would like to make a fresh new start to the new year and maybe you could talk to WikiSysop and maybe ask him to consider and think about letting come back sometime in the new year on WikiMoon. I know it's asking alot but I just want to let you know I'm sorry for what I did. I have asperger's symdrome. It's no excuse but I have trouble with social skills. [edit] Warriors of Legend
Hi, Thanks for your very positive comments on this AfD. I just stumbled across the article and generally feel that very little self-published stuff should be on Wiki, so I AfD'd it. But there's far less notable and far worse articles around and if a vote or two to keep appeared I'd certainly think about withdrawing the AfD. Pleclech 23:06, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:AMbook1.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. [edit] WikiProject Tyne and Wear
Hi there, I'm currently considering making a wikiproject called Wikipedia:WikiProject Tyne and Wear and I'm just wondering if you would be interested in joining if and when I'ts created as I noticed from a user category you live in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. It would be all about improving and creating wikipedia articles relating to Tyne and Wear. If you have any questions, comments or would like to show interest then please tell me on my talk page and if you know any other users who maybe interested in joining please feel free to tell them as it will need a few members in order to make it run smoothly. I will also be willing to create the project page and templates etc if there are enough active members. Thanks. TellyaddictEditor review! 15:36, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Suziecostello.jpg
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Suziecostello.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 16:38, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] American Dragon: Jake Long Episodes in Italics
If you do have the time, could you do the same to the other pages that may or may not have episode titles in quotes. [edit] Spoiled Brat
You're being really insensitive on the spoiled brat page, categorising children from decent, law- abiding, loving homes as spoiled? I'm not spoiled but I find this really offensive that an encylopedia has a genuine article for "spoiled" children, have you ever been called it? Do you know how offensive it is? It's as bad as any racist or sexist word, it implies that your character has been ruined just because your parents love you.
It should be being shown up as an insult and used by the poor and weak to insult those children with something in them, who know what's theres and know what they want, when they want it and that they'll have it, it's called determination not being "spoiled".
BOV1993 12:02, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
- That page is mostly based on the "spoiled brat" characters in fictional works. Not as much on real life, don't take it so personally. And besides the same could be said of you on the same talk page when you bad-mouth "poor cocky" people (I assume you mean chavs). --GracieLizzie 12:09, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Re: Thanks for the Spanish Torchwood article! Can I ask a favor?
Hey, you're welcome :P , I love Spanish :P .. Okay, I added the links, however, I am only learning Spanish 1 right now (Spanish 2 this August), so I do not know what spin off is in Spanish, but I did add a see also section for both, where there are links to each other.. Anyway, I really appreciate your thanks-this gives me incentive to create more Spanish language articles of the current English ones :) .. I have a question about
Sailor Jupiter's attacks in the Live Action:
- Unnamed attack - Sailor Jupiter used another attack which was not
named on screen, in which she used her Sailor Star Tambourine to send star-shaped energy toward her target.
- Unnamed attack - Sailor Jupiter used another attack which was not
named on screen, in which she struck the ground, sending lines of green energy toward her targets; it was similar to Sailor Uranus' World Shaking attack.
Do you know which acts these attacks appeared in? I got the info
WikiMoon.

Regarding this image: I think you're supposed to specify the source URL to dissuade people from tagging it for deletion. Additionally, it seems to have uploaded with a fair use query tag, so you'll need to respond to that. --Mark H Wilkinson (t, c) 20:54, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image source problem with Image:Bratzlogo.jpg
This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Bratzlogo.jpg. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:08, 13 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. [edit] Torchwood - Captain John
Of course he should be under 'H' as soon as there is a valid source for his surname. The only reason he's in the list at present is that he's been pre-announced, but without much detail. If you have a reference (e.g. BBC, not a blog), please feel free to add it. --Rodhullandemu (please reply here - contribs) 23:23, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
- Brilliant! Thanks for digging that out. --Rodhullandemu (please reply here - contribs) 14:53, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:AiYoriAoshi 11.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:AiYoriAoshi 11.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 20:44, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Lettucemanga.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Lettucemanga.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 07:11, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Torchwood Day In The Death.JPG
Thank you for uploading Image:Torchwood Day In The Death.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 15:32, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Prettycure1.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:Prettycure1.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:09, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Cybermink.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Cybermink.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
-
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
