[edit] About BR

I just started a similar discussion at Template talk:Mario series. From that posting:

I strongly discourage using BR in this (or really, any) template. It might look good at your screen resolution and/or with your browser window opened at a specific size, but because this template uses percentage-based sizing, if someone views it on a larger (or smaller!) display, it'll look even more goofed up to them. =) Instead, it might be worth finding out how to refine control of word-wrapping in HTML/CSS. --Locke Cole 16:41, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

Well it seems there's really two solutions--
  1. Use   instead of spaces to keep words together.
  2. Use <span style="white-space:nowrap">text-tags-wiki to not wrap</span>.
Both seem to work well, which is used I guess is dependent on which one will take up more space. The span-tag version is probably also more readable/understandable. Anyway, just figured I'd leave a note here for anyone who comes to edit this later. =) There's probably some subtle/better way to do it that's eluded me too. ;) --Locke Cole (talk) (e-mail) 08:07, 17 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Italics

It may be in the manual of style, but its still a hella lot harder to read and unncessary IMO. I'm for standardizing on normal or bolded, but not italics --larsinio 20:20, 18 November 2005 (UTC)

For what it's worth, I dislike the italics as well. Referring to the manual of style doesn't exactly influence me either since the MoS seems like it's geared towards articles and not towards templates. I mean, it does make sense to italicize titles in the article text itself so they stand out alongside all the normal article text. But it doesn't make sense to italicize all the titles that are lumped together in a template like this. At least it doesn't make sense to me. ;) Having said all that: I suspect the only way to get this stopped would be to get the MoS updated to note that it only applies to articles, not to templates.. --Locke Cole (talk) (e-mail) 21:11, 18 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Priorities

What are the current prioritieS? Salamander (arcade game)? Let me know what youre workign on and need help on --Larsinio 19:17, 25 November 2005 (UTC)

What's next? We need to refine Salamander (arcade game) some; right now i merged it in, but i think it contains some elements present only in the NES game. Do you want to take care of the more game specifics and I can start on the Gradius II article? (or refine something else)? --Larsinio 21:43, 28 November 2005 (UTC)
Your wish is granted. I'll tweak the existing articles for a bit and catch up with you later on. —Vic Vipr 15:26, 1 December 2005 (UTC)
I created the Gradius II article. Upon doing some research i realized that the MSX version of the game is completely different. Should we create a seperate article for it? I'm assuming so --Larsinio 22:58, 1 December 2005 (UTC)
I've come to the same conclusion, let's do it. Vic Vipr 23:40, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Italics in titles discussion

There is currently a discussion re: italics in titles at Wikipedia_talk:Manual of Style (titles)#Italic_in_templates. Anyone with an interest in this should participate in the discussion there. Thanks! —Locke Cole (talk) (e-mail) 06:47, 26 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Alignment

The way all the lines are centred looks very higgledy-piggledy to me, but that might just be at my screen resolution (where one of the lines is broken into two). Would it not be better to align it to the left? Spottedowl 13:41, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
