Talk:Gravitational Beam Emitter
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I understand you reproduced the images below, "in order not to copy images from his manga", but I think it's important enough for the article to include a fair use image of the gun taken from the manga. If you think otherwise, I'd like to discuss it. Also (and I think this is an issue with the main BLAME! article), I think there doesn't need to be so many wiki links. Do we really want 15 different pages for every proper name of a person/place/etc. mentioned in the manga? --AsianAstronaut 19:54, 2004 Jul 17 (UTC)
Well, I was just avoiding any possible repurcussions from the actual author, or for plagarising images. I would love to be able to post images from the manga, but again, I'm just afraid of the consequences. If we are allowed to post low-res images, then I can easily resize the ones I possess to then put them on the site, such as an image of each of the main characters.
Regarding your last point, I think you may be right, I just went a bit overboard, as this was my first ever article. For the sake of keeping spoilers away, I wanted to put the character spoilers on their own page (such as the Killy one), but I suppose we could have one page of all the characters on it, instead of individual ones, just that the spoilers would have to be on that page. - Turbanator 14:52 GMT, 19/07/2004
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:GBE4 2.jpg
Image:GBE4 2.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
