As per the old novels, it looks like Grant Road was the last (or first) station on WR and not Churchgate. Churchgate might be a later addition to WR most probably after 1947. Through trains (trains arriving from outside Mumbai) used to go up to Grant Road and not terminated at Mumbai Central. Npindia 20:09, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
