[edit] Remove Mt Augustus?

Listing Mt Augustus under "Granite outcrops of Western Australia" is drawing a rather long bow. There is some granite and related rock types there, cropping out near the northern end, which, if I remember correctly, can be seen in a place called "The Pound", but the majority of Mt Augustus is composed of sandstone and conglomerate. Incidentally, this granite area would have to somehow be excluded from being part of Mt Augustus itself by anyone wishing to push the rather dubious claim to Mt Augustus being a monolith (biggest or otherwise). -Zamphuor 04:01, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

Sounds reasonable to me. This should be restricted to genuine granite monadnocks; otherwise we'll end up with every hill with a bit of granite to it. By all means remove it. Hesperian 04:30, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
