[edit] Source of the name?
Anyone knows Why this island is called "Grand Turk" island? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 85.105.19.226 (talk) 13:24, 23 December 2006 (UTC).
An experienced seaman had once told me that these islands were named so because of a big donation made by the Turkish-American brothers (owners of Atlantic Records) Ahmet and Nesuhi Ertegun. Akilic06 20:55, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
