[edit] This deterioates into a simple fan page

The second half of this article is just a (enormously tedious, and utterly irrelevent) history of the GP2 modding community, replete with the names of utterly inconsequential contributors to this "szene", followed by a couple of plugs for the current community. I'd recommend slashing all of this down to one paragraph noting that a large modding community developed, referencing the track editor, GP2edit, then in about five words mentioning the current scene. As it is this is a terrible example of fanwank. I came on here through nostalgia for the game following the Monaco GP today, and while for me it's quite nice to remember the amount of modding that went on, which improved my experience of the game enormously, with seasons of improved circuits, a personalised car and decent car models and liveries, it has no place on Wikipedia. Link it to a fan site and be done with it.88.67.240.234 (talk) 20:21, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] NPOV?

"There are many features that make former GP2 players go misty eyed and amongst them were features such as:" "Similarly aged offerings such as Power F1 1995 were simply left in the dirt." Even if these don't constitute Point Of View, they're still not of an encyclopedic tone. There are no references in the article either. A lot of work to be done. I've tried to make some edits to the article with citations, however, the amount of these is limited. Not very many sites carry review for the game.Shifter95 21:07, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 1995 or 1996?

Can we pin down the release date for this game? The article currently has both 1995 and 1996. Some web sources seem to go for one and some for the other, and on my copy, the box says ©1995 but all the files are from 1996. -- DatRoot 20:33, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

I believe it was 1996 for the U.S. market? Guroadrunner 15:32, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
Yes, the release was in the summer of 1996. The ©1995 is property a legecy from the many delays of the game. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.228.71.26 (talk) 11:36, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
The game was released in the UK late 1995 and released in summer 1996 in the USbergqvistjl 2 June 2008
