[edit] Grand Prix - Jury Prize
Someone knows the difference between the Grand Prix and the Prix du Jury (Jury Prize)?
Also, how do we know that the Prix Spécial du Jury is the predecessor to the Grand Prix rather than to the Prix du Jury? It seems that at first it was the Prix du Jury, then de Grand Prix du Jury, and when they discarded the "Jury part" of the Grand Prix, they created a Jury Prize (not Grand, though). Maybe we should merge the Jury Prizes in this article as a sub-prize of the Grand Prix?
Lastly, is there an official explanation of all the prizes at Cannes? Seems like every year they come up with a new one! --Wafry 15:48, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

- These are very good questions! I was wondering the same thing but I have not been able to find any information about this. Maybe you are right that it would be safer to merge in the Jury Prizes, since we're not sure of the relationships. Cop 663 16:15, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

- Actually, it looks like they sometimes still award a Prix Spécial du Jury even in the 1990s. This suggests that the Prix Spécial du Jury is not the precursor to the Grand Prix, but something else, since it doesn't disappear after the Grand Prix is created. I've created a new page, Jury Prize, and moved the Special Jury Prize there. Cop 663 20:04, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
