Especially as Camp Amache and others are sometimes referred to as concentration camps, imho this article should contain more information on the living conditions. --790 09:45, 4 January 2007 (UTC) My husbands grandparents were in this camp for the 3 years. The living conditions were that of barracks with basically sheets inbetween families. Each barrack would hold about 6-7 families and they all had a living room sized places to live in. Let's hope something like this never happens again. America should be ashamed! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.244.56.74 (talk) 14:47, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

See the Japanese American internment and Manzanar articles regarding the use of "concentration camp." -- Gmatsuda (talk) 01:02, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

I don't think that this is an appropriate forum for your hatred of America, either of you.May I suggest www.democraticunderground.comSaltforkgunman (talk) 04:05, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Rather than waste my time with you, all I can say is that if you can edit the article based on facts with reliable sources, then please do. You would do yourself a big favor by keeping your opinions out of the article, which violates Wikipedia's policies on using a neutral point of view -- Gmatsuda (talk) 04:19, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

I have done more to expand and correct this article than anyone. My problem is with the unsigned statement that 'America should be ashamed' on this talk page.I am quite sure that the internees in the camp were not used as slave labor, or used for bayonet practice, or raped and murdered, or any other of the barbaric practices of the Empire of Japan. The only opinions I have put into this ARTICLE is the one that the memorial in the corner of the camp is a 'powerful, moving testimonial to the patriotisn of the Americans of Japanese ancestry.'Which opinion someone deleted.I think that you want to confuse the issue.I think that you would 'do yourself a big favor' by being truthful.

Why do you insist on putting back on this talk page the statement that America should be ashamed, if you did not write it?I reiterate my opinion that this is not an appropriate forum for anyone to 'hold the United States accountable for it's misdeeds'.Saltforkgunman (talk) 04:47, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Talk pages are for discussion of the content of the article associated with it. They are not for debating issues such as what you keep bringing up. See the policies for talk pages linked at the top of the page for further information. -- Gmatsuda (talk) 04:51, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Chris

I removed the 'Japanese American Concentration Camps' at the bottom of the article that went to Japanese American internment , as there is already a link to that. Why does the article need a redundant link to the same article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Saltforkgunman (talkcontribs) 06:05, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

It's a template that's at the end of all the specific camp articles. I'd suggest leaving it as it was. -- Gmatsuda (talk) 06:16, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Well, OK.I'm reasonable.Something else you guys might want to factor in to the article is that the highway signs that identify the place as Camp Amache may have been replaced with something more informative. In 2006, the prez signed H.R.1492 FOR LOTS OF MONEY TO PRESERVE THE CAMPS, AND SOMEONE MAY HAVE CHANGED THE SIGNS.The CAMP AMACHE signs seemed to reflect that no one is especially proud of the camp.Saltforkgunman (talk) 06:28, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
