[edit] "policies" section

I'm not happy with this section. It reads like somebody doesn't like this standardized testing policy. It was pretty clearly wrong in the "about" section it was added to, so I moved it. If somebody wanted to add more interesting policies that would be good. Simply deleting it would be OK with me too.

Minor note: I couldn't figure out what the "boundaries" phrase referred to, so I left it largely unchanged.

[edit] Controversies

I want to know why poeple keep deleting the "Controversies" section even though the sources are cited. I know your being payed by Brian Bauer but i ask you, how can you deny people the truth? <possible libel removed -- Satori Son>. Stop trying to put down the minority. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 76.209.133.244 (talk) 01:22, August 24, 2007 (UTC)

First of all, let me say that I have no connection to Granada Hills in any way. I live over 2,000 miles away and never heard of it before seeing the article here. The article has been on my watchlist since April because of extensive vandalism and edit-warring, but that is the extent of it.
Regarding the “Controversies” section, I have made significant edits to bring it more inline with our official policies of Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, Wikipedia:No original research, and Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons. Those policies are absolutely non-negotiable and must be strictly adhered to.
Even still, however, the section remains insufficiently referenced; see Wikipedia:Verifiability, also an official policy. Unless someone can provide a citation that this “controversy” has received coverage by a reliable, third-party published source, I will remove the rest of the section as well. -- Satori Son 18:58, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
I have been unable to find any reliable, third-party published sources that confirm any of the information in this section. Whether this information is true or not is unknown to me, but until this "controversy" receives coverage by the mainstream press, it should not be in Wikipedia. I have deleted. -- Satori Son 15:46, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

It's kinda hard to find 3rd party evidence about the school's corruption. The school is administration is directly controlled and funded by the Schwartzenegger Administraition. Any published articles regarding the school have been destroyed, peoples lives have been ruined for speaking out against them and its hard to post any evidence against them. I spent years trying to get the Los Angeles Times to investigate the curruption accusations but they were always reluctant since the school spent millions of dollars on a team of lawyers. I worked there for twenty years, I went to school there and everyone in my family went there, and i can tell you the school has gone down the drain for corporate profits and they cover it up with propaganda and lies. There are easily accessible documents from the school that show in black and white all the crimes of the school administration but are obviously not published. —Preceding comment added by 63.93.96.62 (talkcontribs) is copied from User talk:Satori Son#About Granada Hills High School. —02:14, September 5, 2007 (UTC)

Unfortunately, the purpose of Wikipedia is not to “expose corruption” or to bring attention to “scandals” the mainstream press decides not to cover. As an encyclopedia, Wikipedia is a tertiary reference source, not a primary, or even secondary, one. Only information that has been previously published by third-party sources with an established structure for fact-checking and editorial oversight may be included here.
In fact, this project has very strict official polices against posting information that is original research,[1] is not written in a neutral point of view,[2] or has not been verified[3] by reliable sources. I understand your frustration, but this simply is not the proper forum for your grievance. -- Satori Son 13:00, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] "Overview" section

I have deleted most of the "Overview" section for the following reasons:

  1. It was blatantly promotional and not neutral in tone. See WP:ADVERT and WP:NPOV.
  2. It was a direct lift from http://www.ghchs.com/s/379/index.aspx?sid=379&gid=1&pgid=874 , which also makes it a copyright violation. See WP:COPYVIO.
