Hokay, so. Heavens are also used to refer to freeway signs, at least in l.a. while this qualifies as o.r. and as such will not be added, im looking for the proper references. the first tagging is credited to bobby beck in '59, from philadelphia. the first king is generally agreed to be philadelphia's cornbread, who had obtained his crown before the end of the sixties. those two facts are detailed in stephen powers' book "the art of getting over: graffiti at the millenium".
