[edit] Summary
http://www.miltonhistoricalsociety.org/postcard9.html is the URL. The photo dates from about 1855. However, another source, Robert E. Scholes, gives the date as about 1840. The train cars pictured here are heading in the direction of the landing where the stone is to be transferred to boats to continue to Charlestown. The train cars would be empty while heading in the opposite direction. Later trains on this route would have steam locomotives.
