He appeared in Scottish soap River City since 2005 as the character Billy Davies, a serial womaniser. The character cheated on his wife Della with Kelly-Marie; was confirmed as sterile; lost Della in a bet to a friend Lewis, who then got her pregnant (Billy being sterile). He then reluctantly entered into a relationship with Jo Rossi and grew to care for her and asked her to marry him. He was delighted when she fell pregnant, believing the fertility results to be inaccurate. However, Jo then ran off with a man - the father of her unborn baby - whom she had believed to be her half-brother. (However, Luca had lied to Jo and there were no genetic links at all.)
