The phrase "Grapes of Wrath" is a citation from the first stanza of the Battle Hymn of the Republic, by Julia Ward Howe; it is believed to be an allusion to Revelation 14:14-20 ("the harvest and the vintage"), which itself intends to recall Isaiah 63:1-6.
