Granville High School

Granville High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school located in Granville, Ohio. It is accredited by the North Central Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges, and by the State of Ohio Department of Education. GHS is also a member of the Mid-State Athletic League.
Granville High School is nationally renowned for its exceptional pursuit of higher learning. Over half of the faculty hold advanced degrees. On Friday, October 15, 1999 The Wall Street Journal identified GHS as one of the ten best public high schools in the nation based on SAT, achievement tests, and standardized test scores. Granville High School has also been recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a Blue Ribbon School, and the district met all 27 standards of the Ohio State Report Card. Some of the more recognized graduates include Matthew Alter, Joseph Downey, and Ian Carroll.[1]
One notable alumni is Scott Wiper who graduated in 1988 and recently made his national debut as a film writer with the movie Condemned starring Stone Cold Steve Austin. Article
