Grant Township is a civil township of Keweenaw County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the township population was 172.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 202.7 square miles (525.0 km²), of which, 119.3 square miles (308.9 km²) of it is land and 83.4 square miles (216.0 km²) of it (41.15%) is water.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 172 people, 87 households, and 52 families residing in the township. The population density was 1.4 per square mile (0.6/km²). There were 480 housing units at an average density of 4.0/sq mi (1.6/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 98.84% White, and 1.16% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.58% of the population. 38.5% were of Finnish, 8.5% German, 7.7% French, 6.2% Irish and 5.4% Scots-Irish ancestry.

There were 87 households out of which 12.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.2% were married couples living together, 2.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 40.2% were non-families. 33.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.98 and the average family size was 2.48.

In the township the population was spread out with 11.6% under the age of 18, 3.5% from 18 to 24, 14.5% from 25 to 44, 43.6% from 45 to 64, and 26.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 54 years. For every 100 females there were 115.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 111.1 males.

The median income for a household in the township was $34,464, and the median income for a family was $46,250. Males had a median income of $33,750 versus $27,917 for females. The per capita income for the township was $24,336. About 11.4% of families and 10.8% of the population were below the poverty line, including 25.0% of those under the age of eighteen and 7.0% of those sixty five or over.
