[edit] History
Grand River Enterprises was founded by Peter and Jerry Montour, Kenny Hill and others in 1993, and started production illegally until being charged with overproduction. And in 1996 they acquired their federal license to manufacture cigarettes. At the time, GRE was based on a dirt road in Six Nations, on property owned by Sidney Burnham. Burnham was later sued by GRE for $3.1M, on a count of a falling-out which forced GRE to move off of Burnham's property and move in temporarily with Grand River Mills. GRE began to sell to the German army around 2004, under the name Mohawk. Grand River Runs a state of the art tobacco primary processing facility and secondary facility. [1]
