Grand-Auverné
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Grand-Auverné is a village and commune in the Loire-Atlantique département of north-western France. There were two adjacent hotels but now one is closed and up for sale. The open hotel has a tropical garden and is open during the day with a bar, restaurant and tabac. Old lager on draft is a good reason to sit outside and admire the old village church whilst the world passes by in tractors and clapped out cars. The other bar, chez alice is open each day (except Tuesdays) and has a wonderful traditionally French bar and rear courtyard. Dont let the shabby exterior put you off, it is worth waiting until 6pm (approx) when it is open.
