List of The Twilight Zone episodes |
"Gramma" is the first segment of the eighteenth episode from the television series The New Twilight Zone. It is based on the short story of the same name by Stephen King, published in the collection Skeleton Crew. The story is itself heavily indebted to H. P. Lovecraft's story The Thing on the Doorstep.
[edit] Synopsis
George is a young boy left with his infirmed grandmother. He is convinced she is a monster and tries desperately to stay away from her. However, her constant calling for things makes this impossible. After a series of incidents he is met with a shocking surprise, one that will change the family forever.
The segment contains several references to the Cthulhu Mythos, including use of the names Cthulhu, Yog-Sothoth, and an appearance by the Necronomicon.
