Graham Percy (June 7, 1938 – January 4, 2008)[1] was a noted illustrator of children's books. He was born and brought up in New Zealand. He studied Graphic Design at the Royal College of Art, graduating in 1967 and becoming a freelance artist specializing in children's book illustration. He had over 100 books to his credit[2][3], some of which have been told or re-told by himself. He illustrated numerous board books, pop up books and pull tab books. Among his most notable achievements:
- Illustrations for Crime and the law[4] (1969) by Bernard Brown
- Design[5] of the full-length animated film Hugo the Hippo in Hungary (1970 - 1972)
- Illustrations for La Belle au bois dormant[6] (1977) written by Charles Perrault
- Illustration for a TV adaptation of The Emperor's Nightingale which won the Prix d'Italia (1983)
- Illustrations for When Dad cuts down the chestnut tree[7] (1988) by Pam Ayres
- Illustrations for the Fantastic Flying Journey[8] (1987) and Fantastic Dinosaur Adventure[9] (1989) by the noted author and naturalist Gerald Durrell, both published by Conran Octopus
- Illustrations for The Woodland Gospels According to Captain Beaky and His Band[10], by Jeremy Lloyd, Faber and Faber (1990)
- Illustrations for A cup of starshine (1991)[11] selected by Jill Bennett
- Illustrations and text for The Cock, the mouse, and the little red hen[12] (1992)
- Concept and illustrations for Arthouse[13] (1996), published by Chronicle Books, reviewed in the New York Times[14], artwork exhibited at Storyopolis gallery[15] in Los Angeles.
- Illustrations and text for Lullabies: Poems and Rhymes to Dream on[16], Running Press (1995) - this[17] is a part of the Library of Congress Miniature Book Collection which has books of height 10 cm or less
- Design and illustration for the series Graham Percy's Animal Tails[18], Random House (1995)
- Illustrations for the illustrated Mother Goose[19], Running Press (1997)
- Illustrations for the Wind in the Willows [20], HarperCollins (1997) joining the likes of Arthur Rackham and E. H. Shepard
- Illustrations for The mailbox mice mystery[21] (1999) by Juli Mahr
- Illustrations for Mama tiger, Baba Tiger[22] (2001) by Juli Mahr
- Concept and illustrations for Imagined Histories[23] (2007), published by Crear, space to create[24], supported by the Scottish Arts Council.
