"Graduation (Friends Forever)" is a single by American pop singer Vitamin C.
[edit] Reception
The song reached tremendous success at all kinds of graduation parties and events, notably for those related to middle and high schools, and it remains very popular for that occasion; around summer, the song gets heavy airplay on Radio Disney. It has appeared on the iTunes Music Chart at the end of every school year since the chart's inception.[citation needed] A remake was recorded by teen pop group, The Truth Squad.
The single reached #12 on the Top 40 Mainstream, #23 on the Rhythmic Top 40 and #38 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming her second and final single to reach the Top 40. It also reached #2 in the Australian ARIA Charts.
The song was featured in Scary Movie 2 when Cindy is driving while singing along rather badly. Suddenly the music stops, and Vitamin C says, "Hey! Will you shut the fuck up and let me sing?"
The opening lyrics of "Graduation (Friends Forever)" allude to "All the Young Dudes" by Mott the Hoople.
The song is heavily based on Pachelbel's Canon in D.
