[edit] Propose further sub-categories
I just added some 3D formats to this category, then realized that most of the existing ones were 2D. It appears that there should be some further sub-categories here, maybe something like:
- 2D vector file formats (i.e. DWG)
- 2D raster file formats (i.e. GIF, JPG, BMP)
- 3D tessellated file formats (i.e. STEP, VRML, STL, JT)
- 3D NURBS file formats (this already exists, it's just called "CAD" formats)
