I tagged this NPOV because it needs more citations from JW publications. The Watchtower, Organization book and editions of Our Kingdom Ministry will probably have the most JW commentary on the Governing Body. Franz's material only presents one side.

Any cited edits -- even if not JW, perhaps from other ex-Bethelites -- would be appreciated. Justin 07:54, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

The information needs to be verified. It is taken only from one single source, which is not neutral. Any information about the history of the Governing Body is appreciated, but the factual accuracy can be brought into question. Summer Song 17:38, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
I agree, that's why I admitted that editions of Our Kingdom Ministry would be an ideal source, but rarely do JW's -- much less anyone else -- archive or bind that newsletter. I found a source for some recent editions but these look like they are from the UK. Our Kingdom Ministry varies slightly by the publishing branch...
I have now put one section under neutrality dispute, rather than the whole article. Summer Song 04:02, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

I think that contacting the GB in specific disfellowshipping cases is extremely rare. Bur the GB may be contacted for advices in various circumstances. I think that some of the information must be changed. Summer Song 18:15, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Current status

All I can say is that the article is too long and lacking encyclopedic tidyness. Both the language and the information needs more attention. Summer Song 20:35, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

The accounts on the commeitees is still too long. I am going to make changes there as well, if no one else does. Summer Song 18:28, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

To avoid too many administration questiones in the article, I think that the information that can be put under accuracy doubt should be deleted until further notice. I am going to change the section about background. Summer Song 15:17, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Summer Song Edits

Hello Summer Song, I wanted to request that you, when editing this page, read the paragraph and condense it to a 2-3 sentence summary or paraphrase instead of just deleting it. A case in point, you made a deletion of the 'Branch Committee' stating that it had nothing to do with the 'Governing Body' but yet, the 'Governing Body' appoints members for the 'Branch Committee' and provides direction and guidance for their roles. I think it would have been better to summarize that and maybe a sentence or two about the 'Branch Committee' to shorten or condense the information and possibly providing a link to the full explanation to the 'Branch Committee'. I'll await your reply before I proceed with this course of direction. Protector of the Truth 18:48, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Resigned Members

Three memebers of the GB have resigned. Franz is quite obvious but what is the backround of the other two? Senti mental 20:19, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

What are you talking about? - CobaltBlueTony 02:09, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

Ummm.... nevermind i did a little research on the watchtower library. That cleared up what i was looking for heheh Senti mental 04:43, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Picture of Governing Body Members

The picture is out of date. In the past two years three of the body - Carey Barber, Albert Schroeder, and Daniel Sydlik - have finished their earthly course, as stated in the article. This would leave nine living members. Has anyone been appointed to replace these three? Glenn L 06:53, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
