Yeah, I know there isn't evidence in the text, but the whole sentence does not make sense. Pavelić was in no condition to oppose Mussolini by himself. Obviously he was in control of a relatively insignificant state, but also one that at the time had nothing like an army, and was a new state with zero influence. Not only was Pavelić's movement supported, housed, and financed by Mussolini in the inter-war period, but he was actually in control of the NDH solely due to Mussolini's influence on Hitler. In short, if someone checks Mussolini's little fantasies, it can only be the Big Guy ;) --DIREKTOR (TALK) 22:39, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
