Gov. Townsend is dead and so is the artist who created this portrait. Copies are seen in many locations including IN.gov, Indiana Historical Society, and Find a Grave. The portrait itself is on public display at the state capitol and is intended for public use. It is intended to be used on wikipedia on an the article M. Clifford Townsend which is about the life of the governor and his accomplishment while governor, and the portrait is his official portrait as governor which would be appropriate for the article.
