Coordinates: 24°23′N 81°18′E / 24.38, 81.3 Govindgarh is a town and a nagar panchayat in Rewa district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

It is situated at a distance of 19 km from Rewa on National highway –7. It was the old capital of Vindhyan state. It is famous for scenic beauty, mangoes and the white tiger. The Govindgarh palace, on the banks of the huge Lake Govindgarh, houses the personal museum of Maharaja of Rewa. The first white tiger, Mohan, captured in 1951 in the nearby jungles, was kept in this palace till his death. The small islands in the lake have been developed for tourists.

As of 2001 India census,^[2] Govindgarh had a population of 9697. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Govindgarh has an average literacy rate of 58%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 71%, and female literacy is 44%. In Govindgarh, 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.
